You may be wondering, what’s with the yellow? To me, this is the color of sunshine, of happiness, of beauty. If I could, I would surround myself with it.
I am a woman, wife, mother, introvert, project manager, beef farmer, animal lover, Catholic, liberal-ish, OIF veteran, and nerd.
I favor the Oxford comma (see previous sentence), but not unconditionally. I strive for perfection in all things, which drives me and everyone around me crazy.
I have a husband, ‘Eagle’, who is my rock and my best friend. He loves my cooking, and only laughs at my best jokes. He is honest, responsible, and stubborn, all to extremes. We are very well-suited.
I have a son, ‘Bam-Bam’, a preschooler, who is intelligent, verbal, sensitive, destructive, charming and maddening; simultaneously, always.
I have a daughter, ‘Pebbles’, a toddler, who is sweet, nurturing, easy, affectionate, yet strong-willed; she has a flash temper that is as astonishing as it is adorable.
We have a dog, Duke, a 6-year-old yellow lab who wishes he could wag his tail faster and tries very hard to do so.
We have a horse, Buck, a 30-ish-year-old Buckskin, who is a picky eater and charming curmudgeon. He really needs to be nicer about letting me ride him.
We have a cat, Lil’Guy, a 13-year-old former housecat, who roams the farm like it’s his job, and nobly puts up with the rough affection of the children.
Add in a bunch of cattle, tractors, and other wild animals and it’s pretty crazy up in here from day to day.
